Our March Snow...Arrrgghh!

Our city of Atglen was caught in this NorEaster today. When I woke up, we only had about 3 inches of snow, so I was thankful that we were spared. However, the snow continued and now we have about 8 inches with snowy drifts. I was not expecting this, but what can you do? Just embrace it. Here is a picture of my backyard in the early morning.

Since it is snowing, I just had to make a card to brighten my day. Deneen Treble, a fellow CTMH consultant posted some adorable templates of girl dresses on her site. I printed the template out and here is my take on the girl dress card. This is using That's Amore paper, chocolate and blush inks, CTMH sparkles, Connections Stamp set and just some ribbon I had lying around. These dresses remind me of my little girls and what they use to wear.

Murphy's Law

In my last post, I sort of complained about the weather. But, at least I was thankful for good health. As Murphy's Law would have it, my family got bombarded with illness the following week. Six of the seven kids had various cold viruses which gave them 2 sick days at home with me. By the end of the week, I became ill with the flu. Then got pneumonia. Let me just say it was not a pretty week. I am happy to report that we are all back to good health again. I will be weak for another week or so, but I'll take it. No artwork for now, as you can understand, but I am working on a cute layout of my husband and I. We just celebrated our 19th Wedding Anniversary but I was too sick to celebrate. So I found some of our wedding photos and am making a layout. Will post it soon.

I can't wait for Spring

Ok, I'm really worried, cause it's only February and I just want Spring to arrive. We still have a good 5-6 weeks of the yucky weather. I am trying to stay sane in a house full of children who can't go out to play. It is so damp, dreary and cold out. We all have cabin fever and our patience is about out. On the happy side, we are all healthy and I am extremely thankful for that. I have been very busy scrappin, stampin, and experimenting. I just finished a swap on a "About me" book. I am also busy prepping for my "Scrap your Heart out club" This club meets once a month to scrapbook the Workshop of the Month project. It is a great time! To get excited for spring, here is a card using the new Emporium Paper along with the February Stamp of the Month, called appropriately, Easter Eggs. Hope you like...

I just flip for the flip book

I am on a roll with these flip books. The idea originally came from Amy Celona, a stampin up demonstrator, but I just love making them with our papers, stamps and stickease. Here is a Valentine rendition using many stamp sets. The butterfly stamp set will be available this March, as it is March's Stamp of the Month. I used the colors of tulip, chocolate, and blush. Enjoy!

A Layout for the Girl Scouts

A friend of mine, who is a Girl Scout Leader, asked me to help her troop earn their scrapbook badge. Here is the layout the girls will make. I will pre-stamp for them, and they will learn how to mat photos and the fundamentals of a layout design. The framed photo was inspired from Yvette's blog,"Just Ducky at Heart." I really like her blog. This is my take on the dry erase board.
