Another one my 'Stories"

This weekend, our family had a wonderful time at the Adventure Aquarium as we celebrated my son's birthday. It is a fantastic Aquarium and I can't wait to scrap all the pictures I took.

But, reality set back in...for instance, somehow my two year got into our Prisma Glitter and he looked like a sparkling star. My sofa also lit up the room. I dustbusted it up with my "Shark Buster" but you know how glitter is...When the other kids got home from school, they're like, "how come all this glitter is on my jeans?"

Ah yes, the joys of raising a 2 year old. Doesn't he know I'm busy scrapbooking?....
Here is a picture of my children (minus my oldest daughter) at the Aquarium.

One size does NOT fit all

I am listening to the John Tesh radio show as I scrap tonight. He is starting to grow on me. He is much better than Delilah. He is giving advice to couples on what not to give for Valentine gifts. So ladies, do not give your man nose hair clippers. And guys, do not give your ladies clothes that say, "ONE SIZE FITS ALL." Believe it or not, when my hubby and I were brand new boyfriend and girlfriend, my first Christmas gift from him was a neon pink sweatshirt that said, "ONE SIZE FITS ALL." Hey, it was the 80's, what more can I say. I guess I was not too offended, because we are still together after 19 years of marriage and 7 kids. Here is our oldest daughter, Holly. She is 16 here posing for her junior year school picture.

I used the following from Close to my Heart:

C1336 Your adored
D1330 Connections
Z1147 Foundry Bookplates
Key to my Heart
Hollyhock ribbon
Lilac Mist Ink
Sweet Leaf Ink

Valentine Card Anyone?

It's been awhile since I made a card. My friend Carol, also my upline, made a card similar to this one. I copied her formula and added my own stamps. My kids have off tomorrow for MLK day, so even though it's Sunday, it feels like Saturday. You know what that means? Time to scrapbook!

It's Cold, therefore I scrapbook

It's another Saturday night, 9pm. Once again, I am scrapbooking. My daughters, who HAVE a social life are out having fun with friends. I just got my two year old to bed, so I am very excited that I can complete my workshop pages. As I settle in my chair, my 11yr old says, "Mom, my ipod isn't working...can you fix it? I go fix. Phone rings...Mom, can my friend sleep over? Sure. I settle in chair again. Phone rings again. It is hubby to tell me to re-start the fire in the basement cause 4 teenagers are coming over. Grumbling nasty words under my breath, I once again leave the comfort of my chair to start a fire so my daughter and her friends won't freeze. Now I am cold, my PJ's are sooty, and as I walk into the kitchen, I find my 13 year old son eating spaghetti. What the heck? Do you realize it's 10pm at night? Kitchen is closed? Hubby says, let the boys eat Jen. Back to my chair. Next thing I know, I am surrounded by 3 sons, one husband and a dog who are all listening to You Tube videos. (I share my scraproom with the family computer room.) My husband is listening to "To Dream the Impossible Dream" from the Man of LaMancha. Is this a joke? My dream this night was to spend a quiet night scrappin...remember, 2 year old asleep? Now I am listening to various You Tube songs and it is getting crazier by the moment. I have to admit, it was fun and we were all laughing (even me). My daughter, who I just started the fire for, comes up and tells us, "Can you be quiet in here, your too loud and my friends can hear you." My husband both yell at the same time, "WE LIVE HERE" Daughter retreats back to the basement. Meanwhile, I am trying to complete the pages. It is now 10:45pm. I finally get the pages done. Friends leave at 11:15pm. Good, now it is quieting down. Daughter #1 gets home at 11:45 pm and proceeds to open all the ice cream containers. Now the girls are having their midnight snack. Son #4 just crashed on the sofa, but son #5 is still going strong on guitar hero playing Ozzie Osbourne. Just another day in the life of raising a large family. Good night all.

What's a Girl to do?....scrapbook of course

So it's a Saturday night and I am surrounded by 8 boys(that's including my husband). Five of the boys are mine and I am babysitting my friend's two sons. I just settled down my 2 year old for the night. I am now looking forward to a night of scrapbooking in my little office I call home away from home. Hubby and the other 4 boys are watching the NFL playoffs, screaming their lungs out. You can guess what happens next...yes, the two year old is awake. Meanwhile, my son Brian let out my dog, which he is not supposed to, and I can hear my dog barking all over the neighborhood. So much for my quiet night. The coffee I made at 5pm has been reheated 3 times now and so now I will probably be up to 2am. But I am determined to sit here and scrap. For you see, I was at my monthly scrapbook day out, for which I was perfectly happy. I was surrounded by chatty women, chocolate, laughter and I was scrappin. Now I come home to this...I'm sure some of you can relate. Here is a page I completed at my crop. I used the Emporium Paper pack from Close to my Heart, along with the new pewter brads.

That's Amore...a sketch challenge

Yesterday I packed away all the Christmas decorations. I was on a mission to complete this task in one day. I was pretty much successful, except I tripped on the stairs from my garage and landed on my knees and arms. Ouch that hurt. So today my neck, shoulders, knees and wrists hurt, but I'll deal with it. Last night was football playoffs, yuck, so I scrapbooked....YEAH!

As I was blog surfing, I came across Amy Bailey's sketch challenge and I took the challenge. It was fun, and here is what I came up with.
Items used were That's Amore paper pack Level one and the stickease, Dimensional elements, sorbet ribbon, pewter brad, journaling spots (Love Always) and mini medley white daisy collection.
